"The Pop Can Poll" is an experiment in art and democracy.... For this purpose, I gathered 1,000 crushed aluminum cans off the streets of Toronto, washed them, then glued a piece of paper with the address of Parliament Hill to one side.
The real art of the project began in June 2007 when I started canvassing the hoi polloi to write a quick, from-the-gut, personal message to the Prime Minister or any other Member of Parliament. Finished cards where displayed in August 2007 at Lennox Contemporary, Toronto.
The last card was completed in Mid-September and they were dropped in the mail at the beginning of October 2007. I do not know what happened to them after that.
